A somewhat unusual but not unheard-of style, this type of sleeve was
tight on the arm until about 2/3 up the arm where there is a double puff.
The same style is shown here.
This lady has very unusual but creative scalloped pagoda sleeves.
A very common sleeve style was the "coat" sleeve. This was
generally a two piece sleeve, which was very wide and curved at the elbow
to create a visual contrast to the small waist.
This young lady wears another very popular style, the "bishop"
sleeve. It consisted of a large rectangle of fabric pleated or gathered
into the armhole, and gathered into a cuff.
