He might have been promoted to Sergeant. He was mustered out on May 31, 1865. He died on June 10, 1930. He is buried in lot 221, section N, grave 3 NE at Rosedale Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
 

 

Pvt. Hiram F. Butler, Company A
No Image Available Hiram F. Butler (b. 1844?), of Freedom, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on August 16, 1862. He died on November 10, 1917 and is buried at Fairlawn Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
 

 

Pvt. Melvin Butterfield, Company A
No Image Available Melvin Butterfield, of Freedom, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on August 14, 1862. He died while in the service in Corinth, Mississippi, on December 9, 1862. He is buried at Prairie Center Cemetery in Prairie Center, Illinois.
 

 

Capt. James C. Cameron, Company A
James C. Cameron, of Ottawa, IL, was commissioned the First Lieutenant of Company A on September 26, 1861. He was promoted Captain of the same company on September 12, 1862. He was listed as wounded in the Battle of Corinth, Mississippi on October 3-4, 1862. After he recovered, he was assigned to General Grenville Dodge's staff in Corinth and detailed to Iuka to become Provost Marshall of the District of Corinth. He was released from this command became the Colonel of the 1st Alabama Volunteer Cavalry, (U.S.) in April 1863. He was killed at the Battle of Barton Station, Alabama on April 17, 1863. His brother, Capt. Alexander T. Cameron, commander of Co. C, 1st Alabama Volunteer Cavalry (U.S.), brought his body home to the family burial plot. He is buried at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery in Ottawa, Illinois.

Pvt. Henry Carpenter, Company A
No Image Available Henry Carpenter (b. 1844? in Illinois), of Wilmington, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on February 2, 1864. He was discharged due to disability on February 27, 1865. He died in 1919 at the age of 75. He is buried at Garden Plain Cemetery in Wilcox, Nebraska.
 

 

Pvt. Stephen D. Cochran, Company A
No Image Available Stephen D. Cochran (also spelled Cochrane on the official roster), of Tennessee, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on November 23, 1861. He was mustered out of the service at an unknown time, then reenlisted as a new recruit on January 29, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He is buried at Old Masonic Cemetery in Mead, Washington.

No Image Available Charles J. Conger, of Ophir, IL, was commissioned the Second Lieutenant of Company A on September 26, 1861. He was promoted to First Lieutenant on September 12, 1862 and Captain on April 17, 1863. He died in hospital at Resaca, Georgia on October 19, 1864. He is buried at Prairie Center Cemetery in Prairie Center, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. Michael F. Coughlin, Company A
No Image Available Michael F. Coughlin (spelled Caughlin on the official roster), of Wilmington, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on January 26, 1864. He was mustered out on July 1, 1865. He died on August 26, 1924. He is buried at Plainfield Township Cemetery in Plainfield, Illinois.

He is buried in lot Sec-A, section Bl-39, L-6, grave S.W. at Visalia Cemetery in Visalia, California.

No Image Available Mahlon A. Harritt (spelled Harrett on the official roster) (b. February 14, 1845), of Ottawa, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on February 22, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on July 18, 1916 at the age of 71. He is buried in section 3, grave 169 at Alma Cemetery in Alma, Nebraska.
 

 

Mus. Walter Howard, Company A
No Image Available Walter Howard (b. September 25, 1836 in Liverpool, England), of Dayton, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on September 23, 1861. He reenlisted as a veteran on December 25, 1863. At some point he was promoted to Musician. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on October 11, 1924 at the age of 88. He is buried in row 12, grave 15 at Nebraska Veterans Home (also called Soldiers and Sailors) Cemetery in Grand Island, Nebraska.
 

 

Pvt. David Keithley, Company A
No Image Available David Keithley (spelled Keithly on the official roster) (b. March 3, 1833 in Pennsylvania), of Blandinsville, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on November 23, 1861. He was mustered out on January 26, 1865. He died on March 13, 1898 at the age of 65. He is buried in lot 3, section 15, grave 8 at Riverside Cemetery in McCook, Nebraska.
 

 

Pvt. Benjamin F. Kellogg, Company A

He was transferred to the 1st Alabama Volunteer Cavalry, (U.S.) and promoted to Commissary Sergeant on November 3, 1863. He was mustered out on October 31, 1864. He died on November 2, 1891. He is buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, Illinois.

He was transferred Company G, 2nd Alabama Infantry, African Descent (later re-designated Company G, 110th USCT Infantry) and commissioned a Second Lieutenant on March 24, 1864. He died on January 9, 1877. He is buried at Prairie Center Cemetery in Prairie Center, Illinois.

He is buried at Saint Columbia Cemetery in Ottawa, Illinois.

No Image Available Lars S. Olsen (b. June 1, 1837), of Freedom, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on December 24, 1863. At some point he was promoted to Corporal of the same company. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on October 19, 1908 at the age of 71. He is buried at Norway Center Cemetery in Wiota, Iowa.
 

 

Pvt. Orin Peck, Company A
No Image Available Orin Peck (b. November 27, 1836), of Tennessee, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on December 13, 1861. He was captured at Holly Springs, Mississippi on December 20, 1862. From September 1862 to February 1863 he was detailed as a nurse to the hospital at Corinth, Mississippi while a prisoner of war there. He was mustered out of the service on March 13, 1863. He died on November 26, 1916 at the age of 79. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, Illinois.

He died on February 23, 1933 at the age of 88. He is buried in at Aux Sable Grove (also called NaAuSay or Union Burying Ground) Cemetery southeast of Yorkville, Illinois.

He might have been wounded in the hip sometime during his service. He died on February 19, 1913 at the age of 74, possibly of diabetes. He is buried in section 61, grave 1 at Greenwood Cemetery in Hansen, Nebraska.

At some point he was promoted to Sergeant in the same company. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died in 1873. He is buried at Harding Cemetery in Freedom Township (LaSalle County), Illinois.

He is buried at Visalia Cemetery in Visalia, California.

Henry Smith, of Freedom, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on September 25, 1861. He died on May 15, 1862 of wounds received at the Battle of Farmington, Mississippi on May 9, 1862. He is buried in section B, grave 3634 at Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, Mississippi.

He reenlisted as a veteran on December 24, 1863. He was discharged for promotion in the 1st Alabama Volunteer Cavalry (U.S.), but there is no record of his service with that unit. He died on December 25, 1932. He is buried at Prairie Center Cemetery in Prairie Center, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. George W. Webb, Company A
George W. Webb, of Hill's Grove, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company A on December 13, 1861. He died while in the service at Corinth, Mississippi on November 18, 1862. He is buried in section B, grave 3368 at Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, Mississippi.

Willard (b. in Maine), of Freedom, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company F on December 27, 1861.  He reenlisted as a veteran in Company A on December 27, 1863. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on June 14, 1914. He is buried in section 24, row K, grave 16 at Los Angeles National Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
