Lafayette Adams, of Joliet, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 8, 1864. He died at Marietta, Georgia on August 20, 1864. He is buried in section G, grave 8282 at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.

Pvt. Lewis Archer, Company I
No Image Available Lewis Archer, of Rushville, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 4, 1864. He died at Rome, Georgia on July 20, 1864. He is buried in section C, grave 1634 at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.
 

 

Pvt. Ezra Ary, Company I
No Image Available Ezra Ary, of Joliet, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 5, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on March 11, 1933. He is buried at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Dover, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. Albert C. Belden, Company I
No Image Available Albert C. Belden (b. 1845?), of Joliet, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 5, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died c1890. He is buried at Glendale Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
 

 

Pvt. Francis M. Bishop, Company I
No Image Available Francis M. Bishop, of Joliet, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 5, 1864. He died at Rome, Georgia on July 31, 1864 [the official roster says sometime in August]. He is buried in section C, grave 1431 at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.
 

 

1st Lt. Ambrose H. Brown, Company I
No Image Available Ambrose H. Brown, was commissioned the First Lieutenant of Company I on March 9, 1864. He was discharged on June 21, 1865. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Waukegan, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. Thomas A. Burris, Company I
No Image Available Thomas A. Burris (listed as Borris, F. (or T. H.) on the official roster) (b. December 13, 1846), of Joliet, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 1, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died August 29, 1894 at the age of 48. He is buried in lot 21, section G, grave 8 at Ohio Soldier's & Sailors' Home Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio.
 

 

Pvt. Charles Cain, Company I
No Image Available Charles Cain, of Channahon, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. At some point he was captured and sent to a Confederate prison. He was mustered out on May 30, 1865. He died on July 2, 1887. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in West Chicago, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. John Carnifix, Company I
John Carnifix, of Channahon, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. He died at Marietta, Georgia on October 12, 1864. He is buried in section G, grave 7027 at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.

No Image Available James Allen Hamilton, of Channahon, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on March 8, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He is buried at Lone Wolf Cemetery in Kiowa County, Oklahoma.
 

 

Pvt. Lewis J. Haynes, Company I
No Image Available Lewis J. Haynes (b. 1845), of Channahon, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on April 8, 1924. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Wesley, Iowa.

No Image Available George W. Hewitt, of Bureau County, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on March 19, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on August 28, 1921. He is buried at Manlius Cemetery in Manlius, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. Elwood P. Hogue, Company I
No Image Available Elwood P. Hogue (b. c1847), of Channahon, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 5, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on June 17, 1915 at the age of 68. He is buried at Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove, Washington.

No Image Available Albert B. Humiston (b. September 20, 1846), of Channahon, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 1, 1864.  He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He is buried at Riverside Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
 

 

Cpl. Charles J. Johnson, Company I
No Image Available Charles J. Johnson, of Wheatland, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 1, 1864. At some point he was promoted to Corporal of the same company. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on April 14, 1916. He is buried at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. John Jungquest, Company I
No Image Available John Jungquest (spelled Junquest on the official roster) (b. 1846?), of Wheatland, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. At some point he was captured and sent to Camp Sumter (Andersonville Prison), Georgia. He was mustered out on July 13, 1865. He died in 1918 at the age of 72. He is buried in section 21, grave 90 at Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City, Nebraska.
 

 

Pvt. John H. Knowlton, Company I
No Image Available John H. Knowlton, of Yorktown, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company B on December 14, 1861. He was discharged due to disability on December 18, 1862. He moved to Homer Township (LaSalle County), IL and reenlisted as a Private in Company I on February 1, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He is buried at Lefler Cemetery near Harwood, Missouri.
 

 

Pvt. Evan T. Knight, Company I
No Image Available Evan T. Knight, of Ottawa, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 29, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on March 24, 1914. He is buried in grave 458 at Blue Mound Cemetery in Milford, Nebraska.
 

 

Pvt. Charles P. McCoy, Company I
No Image Available Charles P. McCoy (b. c1844), of Petersburg, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 6, 1865. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on November 10, 1910 at the age of 66. He is buried in lot 50, section 5 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas.
 

 

Pvt. Byron Metcalf, Company I
No Image Available Byron Metcalf, of Homer, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
 

 

Pvt. John U. Metcalf, Company I
No Image Available John Uri Metcalf (b. April 9, 1845 in Marion County, Illinois), of Ottawa, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. He was transferred to Company G, 4th Regiment, Veterans Reserve Corps on May 1, 1865. He was mustered out of the Veterans Reserve Corps on July 28, 1865. He died on December 28, 1934 of pneumonia at the age of 89. He is buried in lot N½ 46, section 3, grave 9 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.
 

 

Pvt. John W. Miller, Company I
No Image Available John W. Miller, of LaSalle, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 5, 1864. He died at Marietta, Georgia in August 1864. There are two John Millers buried at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia. The first, in section I, grave 9564, died on August 5, 1864 The second, in section C, grave 1746, died on August 16, 1864. We will probably never know if either of these is the correct soldier.
 

 

Pvt. Truman R. Moon, Company I
No Image Available Truman R. Moon, of Bureau County, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on March 19, 1864. He was killed in action at the Battle of Bentonville, North Carolina on March 21, 1865. He is buried in section 3, grave 127 of Raleigh National Cemetery in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Note: after the war, his body may have been moved.  There is a Truman R. Moon buried in the south section at Willow Cemetery in Oregon, Ohio.

 

 

Pvt. James F. Moore, Company I
No Image Available James Franklin Moore (listed as Franklin Moore on the official roster) (b. July 15, 1823), of Ottawa, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 1, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on July 11, 1885 at the age of 61. He is buried at Lisbon Cemetery in Lisbon, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. Myram Osborn, Company I
No Image Available Myram Osborn, of Bureau County, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on March 31, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on August 14, 1907. He is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet, Illinois.

No Image Available George V. Park, of Homer, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on February 1, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on October 17, 1904. He is buried at Malden Cemetery in Malden, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. Theodore W. Park, Company I
No Image Available Theodore W. Park, of Ottawa, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He is buried at Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
 

 

Pvt. George Rayworth, Company I
No Image Available George Rayworth (spelled Raworth on the official roster) (b. January 25, 1831 in Albany, New York), of Bureau County, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on March 31, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on June 17, 1918 of carcinoma of bladder at the age of 87. He is buried in section 120, grave 5 at Graceland Park Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.
 

 

Sgt. Jared S. Van Liew, Company I
No Image Available Jared S. Van Liew (spelled Vanliew on the official roster), of Ottawa, IL, enlisted as a Sergeant in Company I on January 5, 1864. He was killed at the Battle of Atlanta, Georgia on July 24, 1864. He is buried at Malden Cemetery in Malden, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. David M. Wedding, Company I
No Image Available David M. Wedding, of Ottawa, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on January 25, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He died on November 20, 1926. He is buried at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton, Illinois.
 

 

Pvt. Charles L. Wilcox, Company I
No Image Available Charles L. Wilcox, of Cook County, IL, enlisted as a Private in Company I on March 19, 1864. He was mustered out with his company on July 11, 1865. He is buried at Milo Cemetery in Milo, Illinois.
